Spot copper in Shanghai saw discounts go deeper since last Friday as sellers were keen to destock toward the year-end.

SHANGHAI, Dec 22 (SMM)－ Spot copper in Shanghai saw discounts go deeper since last Friday as sellers were keen to destock toward the year-end.

Transactions, however, remained few and far between as downstream customers were unwilling to take move with SHFE copper climbing to 53,500 yuan/mt.

SMM expects the spot discount to be stable next week as the year draws to a close.
