SMM estimates output from Chinese zinc smelters in December to drop 5.4% from November due to tighter concentrate supply and plant maintenance

SHANGHAI, Dec.18 (SMM)-SMM estimates output from Chinese zinc smelters in December to drop 5.4% from November due to tighter concentrate supply and plant maintenance. Zinc concentrate treatment charges (TC) are therefore forecast to be generally stable in December without momentum to go up.

According to our calculations, Chinese domestic zinc concentrate production in December is set to drop 1.4% year on year and 0.7% month on month due to mine suspensions and maintenance.

For the whole of 2017, output is set to fall 2.7% from the previous year.
