Zinc ingot output limited on environmental checks in Hunan

SMM believes some 6,000-8,000 mt of zinc ingots production at Huayuan county, Hunan province would be affected this month due to low raw material inventories and that local zinc mines remained shut.

SHANGHAI, Dec 18 (SMM)-SMM believes some 6,000-8,000 mt of zinc ingots production at Huayuan county, Hunan province would be affected this month due to low raw material inventories and that local zinc mines remained shut.

Started on December 11, environmental inspections in the region due to pollution issues have led to suspension of mines. Sources told SMM that operations at local zine mines are unlikely to resume by the end of this month.
