SHANGHAI, Dec 12 (SMM) – SMM believes local galvanizing plants in Hebei province would limit production to various extent over the next couple of days following a pollution warning.
According to Hebei’s Provincial Environmental Contingency Management Center, the province will suffer heavy pollutions for four days from Dec 12. So far 10 cities in the province have launched second-level emergency responses, requiring steel companies to use sintering machine of wet desulphurization, shaft furnace to limit production by 50% and coking companies to prolong coke discharging time to at least 48 hours. The production limit action will last to 12 pm, Dec 15.
