Major Privately-owned Steel Enterprises Gain 225% Surge in Profit

According to Chamber of Metallurgical Industries, from January to September, 145 major privately-owned steel enterprises have gained sales revenue of 1.33 trillion yuan.

SHANGHAI, Dec.5 (SMM)-According to Chamber of Metallurgical Industries, from January to September, 145 major privately-owned steel enterprises (accounting for 80% output of total domestic privately-owned steel enterprises) have gained sales revenue of 1.33 trillion yuan, rising 43.93% and profit of 93.2 billion yuan, surging 225% on yearly basis. Song Jijun, vice president of Heibei Provincial Chamber of Metallurgical Industries, says China’s steel industry is entering into a new profitable cycle from the bottom of industrial loss in 2015 and rebound in 2016. [Waste Lead-Acid Battery Market Update] Recently, the Heyuan Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau issued the "Notice on Regulating the Management of Waste Lead-Acid Batteries." According to the Ecological Environment Code of the People's Republic of China, enterprises and public institutions that engage in the collection and storage of waste without a permit may be fined 200,000-1 million yuan; those that engage in utilization and disposal operations without a permit may be fined 1-5 million yuan and ordered to suspend operations or shut down, with responsible persons fined 100,000-1 million yuan; if the act constitutes a crime, criminal liability shall be pursued in accordance with the law.
