SHANGHAI, Nov.24 (SMM)－Yang Liang, general manager of China Minmetals Non-ferrous Metals Co.,Ltd., says recently the environmental issue happened in Qilianshan has been widely spread. Accountability system has been a warning to all mines and smelting plants. Meanwhile, this is also a kind of pressure which will promote China’s lead-zinc industry to integrate with international standard.
For those medium and small sized mines failing to reach environmental standard, the government insists on their closure. Meanwhile, we should clear mining right within natural reserves. As per national laws and policies, license of mining right and exploration right will be rejected for resources in natural reserves, which is challenging for many small and medium sized mines and restrict future increase of lead-zinc resources. Basically and personally speaking, in the future lead-zinc resources will go into a stage of stable increase.
