SMM Exclusive Morning Comments (2017-11-12)

SHANGHAI, Nov.22 (SMM)-

Copper: Main contract 1801 of SHFE Copper moves between 53,700-54,200 yuan per tonne. Premium of spot gradually stabilizes. Today it is estimated to move between 180-90 yuan per tonne.

Aluminium: Main contracts of SHFE Aluminium will aim 14,500 yuan per tonne for nex stage. Today it is expected to move between 14,750-14,950 yuan per tonne. Premium of spot moves between 130-90 yuan per tonne.

Zinc: Driven by foreign market, SHFE Zinc performs quite well. Breaking pressure of all moving averages, it made up dropping amount last week. Today it is estimated to move between 25,350-25,800 yuan per tonne.

Tin: Last night SHFE Tin rushed high and retraced for late session, showing great pressure above. Today it is estimated to move between 142,000-143,500 yuan per tonne.

Nickel: Main contract 1805 of SHFE Nickel is estimated to move between 95,000-96,300 yuan per tonne today, with spot price at 94,500-95,800 yuan per tonne.

Lead: SHFE Lead moves between 10-day and 20-day moving averages, with upper pressure of 19,000. It is expected to move around 10-day moving average for reorganization today.

[SMM Copper Wire and Cable Weekly Operating Rate] This week, the operating rate of SMM copper wire and cable enterprises was 69.95, down 0.81 percentage points MoM. Overall operating performance was stable this week. During the week, copper prices hovered at highs, exacerbating wait-and-see sentiment among downstream enterprises, while new orders remained weak. Enterprises still relied on ample orders on hand to keep production basically stable. By segment, the power sector remained the core support, with orders in NEV and optical fiber performing well, while engineering and construction orders were still hardly optimistic. The operating rate of copper wire and cable enterprises is expected to fall 0.67 percentage points MoM to 69.29 next week
