SMM China’s copper concentrates output reaches 722,500 tonnes in October, 2017, rising 5.55% on monthly basis and 9.14% on yearly basis.

SHANGHAI, Nov.9 (SMM)-SMM China’s copper concentrates output reaches 722,500 tonnes in October, 2017, rising 5.55% on monthly basis and 9.14% on yearly basis. Total output from January to October is 6.5465 million tonnes, rising 1.84% on yearly basis.

The monthly rise in October keeps strong mainly because utilization of newly-extended capacity of Daye Nonferrous, Jiangtong Fuye and Dintong goes up, with obvious output increase of smelting plants as Zijin, Jinchuan, Jinlong. Meanwhile one smeliting plant which declined with its copper concentrates output in September due to short supply of anode copper resumes its production. From the fourth quarter, most smelting plants have finished maintenance in the first three quarters. With few maintenance plan currently, copper price and TC of spot copper concentrates is at high level throughout the year, smelting plants are catching up with production plan and raising capacity utilization.

SMM learned Hongyue North Copper from Huludao will launch its cathode copper project of 150,000 annual capacity in November. As per production plan of each smelting plant, SMM predicts China’s copper concentrates output will keep as high as 723,000 tonnes in November, rising 8.4% on yearly basis. Total output from January to November will reach 7.2695 million tonnes, rising 2.46% on yearly basis.
