CNIA: China’s Lead and Zinc Industry to Keep Green Development

Influenced by China’s new norm of economy and restriction of resources and environment, lead and zinc industry will slow down in growth.

SHANGHAI, Nov.7 (SMM)-Pen Tao, Secretary General of lead and zinc branch of China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association says, currently lead and zinc industry is large in scale. The total capacity of over 200 smelting plants: smelting zinc 7.3 million tonnes, mineral lead 4.9 million tonnes, 3.5 million/1 million tonnes secondary lead/zinc capacity. Smelting lead technique is leading-edge. Natural endowment is ordinary despite large deposit. Integrated enterprises of mining, selecting and smelting occupy a low proportion. Industrial intensity and competitiveness is not desirable. Influenced by China’s new norm of economy and restriction of resources and environment, lead and zinc industry will slow down in growth.
