Two Ministries: “2+26” Cities to Implement Stagger Production for Building Industry

Requiring limit their steel production by 50%, calculating by capacity of blasting furnaces and verifying by actual power consumption.

SHANGHAI, Nov.6 (SMM)－Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and Ministry of Environmental Protection released the Notice on Stagger Production for Building Industry in “2+26” Cities during Autumn and Winter of 2017-2018, requiring those key cities like Shijiazhuang, Tangshan, Handan and Anyang to limit their steel production by 50% during heating season (Nov.15^th,2017 to Mar.15^th,2018), calculating by capacity of blasting furnaces and verifying by actual power consumption of enterprises. Other “2+26” cities decide production limit policy on their own according to local air quality in autumn and winter.
