BHP Billiton decides to invest in its nickel mine business in Australia, aiming to provide nickel sulfate needed for battery of electric cars manufacturer.

SHANGHAI, Nov.3 (SMM)-BHP Billiton decides to invest in its nickel mine business in Australia, aiming to provide nickel sulfate needed for battery of electric cars manufacturer. Also, since copper is used in battery and motor in cars, with growing demands of electric cars and renewable energy, copper usage will surge. The company plans to increase purchase of another 400,000 tonnes copper concentrates from China’s smelting plants. Arnoud Balhuizen, CBO of BHP Billiton says, the company is active in exploring petroleum and copper.
