Cargo holders held onto their goods as copper scrap prices dropped over 1,000 yuan per tonne in tandem with falling SHFE copper.

The price spread between copper cathode and copper scrap shrank from as high as 2,200 yuan per tonne seen last week to 1,600 yuan per tonne on October 30.
