SHANGHAI, Oct. 20 (SMM)－This week see a continuous drop of lead price. The average price within the week has declined by 1,145 yuan per tonne. Profits of secondary lead smelting plants have shrunk dramatically (The highest profits has reached 3,000 yuan per tonne but currently the profits is narrow calculated by scrap price). Many small unbranded secondary lead smelting plants have suspended their production forced by high purchasing price of raw materials previously and huge loss. Besides, some plants are basically consuming their inventories for raw materials even though they are still operating. Meanwhile, they are cutting down production to see after-market.
