SHANGHAI, Oct. 17 (SMM)－As per SMM research, the launching rate of domestic key lead smelting plants is 68.24%, raising another 3.47% after refreshing new high in August. The research involves 48 plants of total 4.685 million tonnes capacity.

In September except that Jiangxi Jinde and Liaoning Haicheng Chengxin drops in output for overhaul, others keeps stable and slight increase, leading launching rate rising compared with August.

The launching rate of large scale plants of over 100,000 tonnes annual capacity rises 7.93% to 77.47% compared with last month. As SMM reported previously, the green policies lead to universal production suspension or reduction of nearby chemical plants and slag processing plants. Tailings of lead plants and acid’s difficult production also restrict the output. After the environmental inspection is over, more than half of the large scale plants have increase their output.

The launching rate of medium sized plants of 50,000-100,000 tonnes annual capacity drops 2.8% to 63.95% compared with last month. Most smelting plants experienced dropping output due to short supply of raw materials of lead concentrates.

The launching rate of small sized plants of less than 50,000 tonnes annual capacity surges 15.78% to 39.09% compared with last month. Small plants recovered their production after the green policies, especially for Yunnan Province.

In October, the 19^th CPC National Congress the most important thing. Currently some places in Henan Province have received notice of production limit and stagger production. Also need to focus on the shortage of mines, which may be influence the output of primary lead. October see a intensified short supply of lead concentrates, plus continuous drop of TC, the im-factory TC of some plants has refreshed historical new low. It is estimated the restriction of mines on output of primary lead will be more distinct. Besides, plants like Henan Jinli and Inner Mongolia Chifengshan Gold and Silver Lead are going to do overhaul in October. It is estimated launching rate of primary lead plants will drop slightly to 61% in October.
