“Supervision of environmental protection has not affected output of major industrial products. It is also not the direct factor that raises the prices.

SHANGHAI, Sept. 27 (SMM)-On Sept 27th, the  Ministry of Environmental Protection convened routine press conference. Cui Shuhong, director of Division of Environment Impact Assessment, said in the past some illegal pollution emission firms reduce or even eliminate cost of environmental protection significantly, causing bad money drives out good. Thus they achieved higher profits than firms that strictly comply with environmental protection policies, which seriously damaged competitive order of the market and hinder optimization and upgrading of industrial structure.
“We do not approve the opinion that policies of environmental protection raise prices of raw materials.”Cui Shuhong said, “Supervision of environmental protection has not affected output of major industrial products. It is also not the direct factor that raises the prices. To reinforce forcing mechanisms of environmental protection, dispel bad money, purify market environment, promote adjustment of economic structure, improve quality of economic development and guarantee people’s interest and right, that is the meaning of supervision ”She said.

Both the Operating Rate and Order Intake of the Enamelled Wire Industry Pulled Back
During the week (7.17-7.23), the operating rate of enamelled wire production equipment fell 2.07 percentage points WoW, and weekly orders taken pulled back 4.18% WoW. The industry was in a traditional off-season of demand, with weak support from end-user rigid demand, while a significant surge in copper prices directly suppressed downstream procurement pace, leading to a sharp drop in orders placed during the week, which directly caused a notable weakening in orders taken this week.
