Shanghai Spot Copper Trades at Premiums over SHFE Current-Month Copper Contract

Spot copper in China’s Shanghai market traded at premiums of 40-80 yuan per tonne over SHFE current-month copper on Wednesday, according to SMM data.

SHANGHAI, Sept. 13 (SMM) – Spot copper in China’s Shanghai market traded at premiums of 40-80 yuan per tonne over SHFE current-month copper on Wednesday, according to SMM data.

Standard-quality copper traded between 51,080-51,260 yuan per tonne, and high-quality copper traded at 51,100-51,280 yuan per tonne.

As of Monday December 6, the copper inventory across major Chinese markets increased 8,500 mt from last Friday to 91,200 mt. The inventory increase over the weekend was mainly in Shanghai and Guangdong. And the inventory in Jiangsu, Chongqing and Tianjin grew slightly. The inventory in other regions changed little.
