SHANGHAI, Sept. 4 (SMM) - Three Chinese steel plants were hurt by fire last week, including Xinxing Ductile Iron Pipes, Benxi Steel and Shengbao Iron & Steel Group.

Steel futures market surged after fire at benxi steel.

The fire at Shengbao Iron & Steel Group was caused by cable fault.

Three Chinese steel plants, including Xingang Steel, Anyang Steel and Lingyuan Iron & Steel said September their steel production cost will rise due to abnormal share price movement, and whether their profit will remain at current level is uncertain.

China’s Ministry of Environmental Protection will examine “2+26” cities including Beijing, Tianjin, Hehei and surrounding regions as heavy pollution weather will come earlier this year.

The Ministry of Environmental Protection will supervise and examine air pollution treatment in "2+26" cities for 15 rounds in two phases during September 1, 2017-March 29, 2018.

Premiums of domestic and imported zinc slid rapidly in Shanghai.
