Zinc trading inventories in Tianjin dropped for two weeks in a row by an average of 3,000-4,000 tonnes, SMM understands.

SHANGHAI, Aug. 30 (SMM) - Zinc trading inventories in Tianjin dropped for two weeks in a row by an average of 3,000-4,000 tonnes, SMM understands.

Premiums of Imported Zinc May Turn to Discounts with Continuous Influx of Imported Resources, SMM Reports

Fewer arriving shipments and steady consumption in Tianjin led to the declines, SMM said. Some zinc smelters in north China remained in maintenance. Some zinc downstream producers suspended or cut production during the 13th National Games in Tianjin. Most producers remained in normal production, though.

Trading volume increased to 12,425 lots, and open interest rose by 1,955 lots to 217,000 lots.

Trading volume fell to 47,019 lots, and open interest decreased by 1,040 lots to 71,016 lots.
