SHANGHAI, Aug. 30 (SMM) - Zinc trading inventories in Tianjin dropped for two weeks in a row by an average of 3,000-4,000 tonnes, SMM understands.

Premiums of Imported Zinc May Turn to Discounts with Continuous Influx of Imported Resources, SMM Reports

Fewer arriving shipments and steady consumption in Tianjin led to the declines, SMM said. Some zinc smelters in north China remained in maintenance. Some zinc downstream producers suspended or cut production during the 13th National Games in Tianjin. Most producers remained in normal production, though.

Since 10 July, SMM Chinese sulfuric acid price index from Copper smelters has declined for 11 consecutive weeks on a weekly basis. This weekend, sulphuric acid prices were further reduced in some regions, with the ex-works price of 98% smelting acid falling below 1,000 yuan/mt.
