SHFE 1801 nickel fell to RMB 92,050/mt after opening at RMB 92,090/mt on Monday.

SHANGHAI, Aug. 28 (SMM) – SHFE 1801 nickel fell to RMB 92,050/mt after opening at RMB 92,090/mt on Monday. Rising ferrous metals prices pushed SHFE 1801 nickel up to RMB 93,530/mt in the afternoon. Finally, SHFE 1801 nickel ended down RMB 680/mt or 0.72% at RMB 93,520/mt. Trading volumes rose 158,000 lots to 791,000 lots, and positions were down 3,318 lots to 511,000 lots. The contract wil move in current range tonight.

Nickel Prices Drop: SMM 10-12% High-Grade NPI Down 17.2 Yuan, Indonesia NPI FOB Index Falls 2.06 $/mtu

[SMM Nickel Flash] The SMM average price of 10-12% high-grade NPI fell 17.2 yuan/mtu WoW to 1,035.8 yuan/mtu (ex-factory, tax included), while the Indonesia NPI FOB index average price dropped 2.06 $/mtu WoW to 131.2 $/mtu. At the beginning of the week, futures hit limit-down, and nickel prices fell sharply WoW, driving the emergence of arbitrage supplies sold at low prices, leading to a significant decline in high-grade NPI prices.
