SHFE 1710 lead opened at RMB 19,500/mt and closed at RMB 19,415/mt, down RMB 155/mt or 0.79%.

SHANGHAI, Aug. 24 (SMM) – On Thursday, SHFE 1710 lead opened at RMB 19,500/mt and then advanced to RMB 19,590/mt, up to as high as RMB 19,630/mt. The contract dropped to RMB 19,370/mt after meeting resistance at RMB 19,600/mt and closed at RMB 19,415/mt, down RMB 155/mt or 0.79%. Trading volumes reduced 76,658 to 114,000 lots and positions were up 936 to 49,878

SHFE 1710 lead will keep fluctuating at current level on Thursday’s night trading.

Sluggish Transactions in Domestic Secondary Crude Lead Market, Prices at 15,250-15,400 Yuan/mt

The domestic secondary crude lead market experienced sluggish transactions. As of February 6, 2026, the ex-factory tax-exclusive offers for domestic secondary crude lead stood at 15,250-15,400 yuan/mt. Downstream refined lead and alloy smelters gradually entered the holiday period, showing weak stockpiling willingness. Overseas lead ingot suppliers basically halted transactions with China due to poor consumption in the Chinese market, with only some previously concluded shipments maintaining normal in-transit transportation. The trading atmosphere in the secondary crude lead market will continue to weaken next week.
