Nonferrous metals share jumped in the afternoon.

SHANGHAI, Aug. 22 (SMM) – Nonferrous metals share jumped in the afternoon.

Over 70% of 1,004 Companies Listed on China A-Share Market Post Gains in Net Profit in H1 2017

Hanrui Cobalt and JPMF Guangdong Co. rose by daily limit. China Molybdenum Co. soared 8.31%. Huayou Cobalt has gained by lock limit in the morning trading.

Bullish Zirconium Drives up Performance of Leading Listed Companies

Stock prices of some other nonferrous metals companies also performed well.

According to ChinaIOL, in August, air conditioner assembly and upstream compressor factories took turns shutting down for equipment maintenance, with production undergoing planned reductions to varying degrees. On the sales side, although orders in some export market regions were growing, the domestic sales market saw summer come to an end, accompanied by adverse weather such as typhoons and rainfall in east China and south China, weakening end-use demand. Combined with destocking pressure, factory shipments declined significantly.

China's Air Conditioner Production and Domestic Sales Drop in August 2026, Exports Rise Slightly
ChinaIOL data shows that in August 2026, China produced 10.72 million household air conditioners, down 16.8% YoY; sales were 11.049 million units, down 15.2% YoY. Of this, exports were 5.477 million units, up 3.6% YoY, while domestic sales were 5.572 million units, down 28.0% YoY.
