SHANGHAI, Aug. 21 (SMM) – Industry insiders expect base metals prices to extend gains in the second half of this year, citing several positive factors.
Their optimism comes from strong Chinese economy, tighter environmental protection checks, as well as supply side reform.
As of August 20, 51 nonferrous metals listed companies on Shanghai Stock Exchange and Shenzhen Stock Exchange had released half-year earnings reports, of which nearly 90% reported year-on-year growth in net profit. A total of 15 listed companies had released forecasts for Q3 earnings, all of which made positive forecasts.
