SHANGHAI, Aug. 18 (SMM) – Trevali Mining Co.’s Vice President Steve Stakiw said zinc supply deficit will not alleviate in the foreseeable future due to the lack of large zinc mine projects.
Mining companies cannot meet the continuously rising demand from the market due to closures at old mines.
Canada-based Trevali Mining exported some 604,500 tonnes of zinc in the first half of 2017, a growth of 15.2%.
The company has lead-zinc-silver mines in Peru, Canada and Africa.
