How Will Closures at Electroplaters in Zhejiang Affect Zinc Market? SMM Reports

SHANGHAI, Aug. 17 (SMM) – Yiwu Environmental Protection Bureau ordered alloy producers to close for rectification August 14, 2017. Electroplaters whose alloy raw materials contain high cadmium were majorly affected.

LME Zinc Hits Nearly 10-Year High on China Reason

Many electroplaters in Yiwu and Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province were forced to shut down, SMM reported. This will affect nearly 30% of orders at die-cast zinc alloy producers in Zhejiang and some zinc consumption in the near term.

But, alloy plants in other regions were not affected yet, SMM added.
