SHFE Copper Inventories Surge to Over 2-Month High

Copper inventories on the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) increased 17,062 tonnes to 207,777 tonnes this past week, which is the peak from June 1.

SHANGHAI, Aug. 11 (SMM) - Copper inventories on the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) increased 17,062 tonnes to 207,777 tonnes this past week, which is the peak from June 1.

Copper Inventories in Shanghai Bonded Zone Grow for 2 Weeks, SMM Reports 

SHFE copper inventories grew 9% this past week, the biggest weekly gain from the week ended February 9.

In the first seven months of this year, China's total social logistics value reached 214.5 trillion yuan, up 5.0% YoY. It maintained stable growth, and the demand structure improved. The growth rate of total import logistics volume stabilized, and the goods mix showed notable divergence. In the first seven months, total import logistics value was up 1.8% YoY, and import logistics volumes of high-tech products and mechanical and electrical products continued to grow rapidly.
