India’s primary aluminum output rose 19.1% year-on-year to 2.44 million tonnes in the fiscal year of 2015-2016, and consumption rose 25.4% year-on-year to 1.98 million tonnes, while exports increased over 15% year-on-year.

At present, per capita aluminum consumption in India is just 1.5 kg, well below 22 kg in China, meaning huge potential to grow.
