US DOC: Chinese Aluminum Foil Exported to US Is Heavily Subsidized

Chinese aluminum foil exported to the US is heavily subsidized, according to preliminary result announced by the US Department of Commerce on August 8.

SHANGHAI, Aug. 10 (SMM) –Chinese aluminum foil exported to the US is heavily subsidized, according to preliminary result announced by the US Department of Commerce on August 8.

The DOC announced subsidy margins for Chinese aluminum foil exported to the US are 16.56%-80.97%. Based on this preliminary result, the DOC suggested US Customs to levy corresponding deposits on products involved.

In March this year, the DOC launched anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigations into aluminum foil imported from China.  

The DOC and US International Trade Commission plan to make final determinations on anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigations into aluminum foil imported from China in October and December, respectively.
