TAIPEI (Scrap Register): Prices for Taiwanese containerized HMS # 1&2 80:20 imports continued to gained by $05 a ton to $263 a ton during the week ended July 07, according to the figures from The Steel Index.
Imported ISRI grade scrap edged further north this week in Taiwan as suppliers increased offers due to high demand of scrap material in the international markets.
Those deals that have concluded had limited volume as suppliers were unwilling to let go of large volumes due to market sentiment indicating that prices may see further increases.
Taiwanese mills have in turn been cautious about the high prices as domestic demand remains weak.
