SHANGHAI, Aug. 8 (SMM) – Small and medium copper mines in Anhui, Yunnan and other regions are severely hit by environmental checks, SMM survey finds.

In Anhui, almost half of copper mines whose annual capacity is less than 1,000 tonnes (Cu content) have shut down.

Small copper mines, whose annual beneficiation capacity is below 200,000 tonnes, may withdraw from the market amid growing environmental pressure, SMM expects.

SMM statistics showed copper concentrate output in China fell steadily during 2014-2016.
