SHANGHAI, Aug. 2 (SMM) – As of last Friday, second-grade metallurgical coke prices advanced to 1,800 yuan per tonne in Shandong’s Linyi, Shanghai Metals Market learns.
The price rise added difficulties for low-grade NPI plants in sourcing goods. One low-grade NPI producer in Guangxi said one supplier refused to sell goods due to optimistic outlook, and the NPI producer raised offers from 3,100 yuan to 3,150 yuan per tonne.

Low-grade NPI is estimated to stay on the rising track amid positive sentiment.
Most of low-grade NPI is consumed by #200 stainless steel, and demand from #300 stainless steel market is limited.
