Aluminum Billet Processing Fees Keep Falling in Henan for Demand and Environmental Reasons, SMM Reports

SHANGHAI, Jul. 31 (SMM) – In contrast with Xinjiang and Shandong, aluminum billet processing fees in Henan have been falling steadily, SMM found.

 Impact on Aluminum Output to Expand as Henan Voluntarily Joins Winter Cuts
Processing fees in Henan have dropped from 300 yuan/tonne in early April to present 240 yuan/tonne (including tax, self pickup). SMM attributes the decline to poor demand and environmental protection checks, which further hurt consumption. 

SMM Sees Aluminum as Worst Performer among Base Metals

Some aluminum billet producers in Xinjiang and Shandong, however, hiked processing fees due to changes in aluminum liquid prices.
