SHFE 1709 lead opened at RMB 18,140/mt and ended at RMB 18,030/mt, down RMB 185/mt or 1.02%.

SHANGHAIM, Jul. 28 (SMM) – On Friday, SHFE 1709 lead opened at RMB 18,140/mt and then climbed to RMB 18,300/mt. Later, the contract slumped to RMB 17,965/mt and fluctuated at RMB 18,030-18,090/mt. SHFE 1709 lead ended at RMB 18,030/mt, down RMB 185/mt or 1.02%. Trading volumes reduced 5,940 to 84,370 lots and positions lowered 1,560 to 45,274.

SHFE 1709 lead will challenge RMB 18,300/mt in the coming week.

Sluggish Transactions in Domestic Secondary Crude Lead Market, Prices at 15,250-15,400 Yuan/mt

The domestic secondary crude lead market experienced sluggish transactions. As of February 6, 2026, the ex-factory tax-exclusive offers for domestic secondary crude lead stood at 15,250-15,400 yuan/mt. Downstream refined lead and alloy smelters gradually entered the holiday period, showing weak stockpiling willingness. Overseas lead ingot suppliers basically halted transactions with China due to poor consumption in the Chinese market, with only some previously concluded shipments maintaining normal in-transit transportation. The trading atmosphere in the secondary crude lead market will continue to weaken next week.
