SHANGHAI, Jul. 27 (SMM) –Anglo American kept its copper output target for the whole of 2017 unchanged, despite a 3% year-on-year decline in output in H1.
The company plans to produce 570,000-600,000 tonnes of copper in 2017.
Its copper production dropped 2% year-on-year to 144,200 tonnes in Q2 and fell to 290,700 tonnes in H1. The decline was due mainly to operation suspensions at El Soldado mine for some time in Q1. The mine, whose output tumbled 13% year-on-year in Q2, resumed production at the end of April.
