SHFE 1708 lead opened at RMB 17,560/mt and closed at RMB 17,445/mt, up RMB 90/mt or 0.52%.

SHANGHAIM, Jul. 24 (SMM) – On Monday, SHFE 1708 lead opened at RMB 17,560/mt and then climbed to RMB 17,635/mt. The contract later fluctuated between RMB 17,570-17,595/mt before falling to RMB 17,430/mt. SHFE 1708 lead closed at RMB 17,445/mt, up RMB 90/mt or 0.52%. Trading volumes reduced 15,108 to 24,926 lots and positions dropped 3,722 to 20,034.

SHFE 1708 lead will keep fluctuating at current level on Monday’s night trading.

The domestic secondary crude lead market experienced sluggish transactions. As of February 6, 2026, the ex-factory tax-exclusive offers for domestic secondary crude lead stood at 15,250-15,400 yuan/mt. Downstream refined lead and alloy smelters gradually entered the holiday period, showing weak stockpiling willingness. Overseas lead ingot suppliers basically halted transactions with China due to poor consumption in the Chinese market, with only some previously concluded shipments maintaining normal in-transit transportation. The trading atmosphere in the secondary crude lead market will continue to weaken next week.
