SHANGHAI, Jul. 18 (SMM) - International Lead & Zinc Study Group (ILZSG) reported global zinc supply deficit expanded to 178,000 tonnes during January-May, compared to 133,000 tonnes deficit in the same period of 2016, according to wenhua.com.
Global zinc ore production increased 6.3% on a yearly basis to 5,375,000 tonnes during January-May.

Global zinc supply deficit narrowed to 40,300 tonnes in May. Supply deficit was revised to 108,200 tonnes in April.

ILZSG said zinc inventories at consumers, producers and bourses fell from 1,260,400 tonnes to 1,208,300 tonnes in May.
