SHANGHAI, Jun. 14 (SMM) – Spot trading was better across Shanghai, Tianjin and Guangdong due to falling zinc prices, SMM reported.

#0 zinc traded mainly in 22,880-22,940 yuan per tonne range in Shanghai on July 14. #0 zinc prices in Guangdong were 22,850-22,900 yuan per tonne and 22,900-24,030 yuan per tonne in Tianjin, SMM data showed.

In early trading, LME zinc fluctuated upward and touched a high of $3,331.50/mt, after which prices fell rapidly. It then rose and recovered the losses, but during European trading hours, as bears reduced open interest, LME zinc quickly dipped to $3,284/mt.
