Rusal Expects Global Aluminum Deficit to Expand in 2018

The global aluminum deficit is expected to wide from 1.3 million tonnes in 2017 to 1.7-1.8 million tonnes in 2018.

SHANGHAI, Jul. 13 (SMM) – The global aluminum deficit is expected to wide from 1.3 million tonnes in 2017 to 1.7-1.8 million tonnes in 2018, Oleg Mukhamedshin, Rusal’s Deputy Chief Executive, said on Wednesday. 

The global aluminum price is estimated to remain at the current level in 2017, and to be above $1,900 per tonne.
