Brazil Rebar exports decline significantly

During June this year, Brazil's rebar exports was seen to decline about 30.5 percent  to 42536 mt, while the exports during June of 2016 was seen at 61231 mt, as per ministry data.

BRAZILIA (Scrap Register): During June this year, Brazil's rebar exports was seen to decline about 30.5 percent  to 42536 mt, while the exports during June of 2016 was seen at 61231 mt, as per ministry data.   

The exports during the month in the monetary terms was seen to decline to about 27.65 percent to $ 20.38 million FOB. The exports value during last year was seen at $28.17 million FOB. While in the case of rebar imports, it was declined to zero from 2537mt valued $1.08 million FOB during 2016.

During the initial half of the 2017 the exports declined by 13.26 percent to 263255 mt when compared to 303512 mt in the same period last year. The exports value was seen at $126.97 million FOB against $138.85 million FOB, a decline of about 8.55 percent.

During the initial half of the 2017 the imports was seen at 4753 mt against 28131 mt during the same period last year, a decrease of about 83.1 percent. In monetary terms, this reduction represented a drop of 79.7 percent to $1.98 million FOB from $9.76 million FOB a year ago period.
