Zinc Slag Coefficient Declines in North China on Eased Shortages, Seen Falling Further, SMM Reports

SHANGHAI, Jul. 7 (SMM) - Zinc slag coefficient in North China fell to 85-87% this past week as supply tightness alleviated, SMM said.

Zinc Consumption Severely Impacted after Production Restrictions at Galvanizers, SMM Reports

Zinc slag supplies increased steadily from June now that galvanizers in North China returned to production. Meanwhile, zinc oxide producers showed weaker interest in building raw material stocks. Rubber tire output began to fall with the onset of low-demand season for vehicles, which started in May and will last throughout June-August. High raw material prices also kept zinc oxide on the sidelines, SMM explained.

Zinc slag coefficient looks set to fall further in the near term, SMM predicts.
