SHFE 1709 Tin Ends with Gains (2017-7-7)

On Friday, SHFE 1709 tin opened at RMB 144,430/mt, and hit a low of RMB 143,800/mt.

SHANGHAI, Jul. 7 (SMM) –On Friday, SHFE 1709 tin opened at RMB 144,430/mt, and hit a low of RMB 143,800/mt. But, the most active contract shot up before the closing time, and finally ended up RMB 80/mt or 0.06% at RMB 144,340/mt. Trading volumes decreased 2,904 lots to 11,220 lots, and positions rose 44 lots to 21,052 lots. SHFE 1709 tin will test support at RMB 143,000/mt during today’s night session.

According to a Yonhap News Agency report, industry sources said on Tuesday that AMD CEO Lisa Su is expected to visit South Korea on Wednesday, including a visit to Samsung Electronics' chip production site, marking her first visit to the country since taking office in 2014. The sources said the two companies are expected to discuss cooperation in the semiconductor toll processing sector, as well as expanding their partnership beyond memory chips. Meanwhile, Su is also expected to visit the headquarters of South Korean portal operator Naver on Wednesday to discuss cooperation in the artificial intelligence data center business with the company's CEO.

[SMM Tin Flash News: Canadian Solar Inc. Energy Storage Signed 2.5 Gwh in Export Orders]
Canadian Solar Inc. announced that e-STORAGE, its energy storage solutions business subsidiary, had signed a supply agreement with a major utility outside China to provide BESS for an energy storage project with a scale of approximately 500 MW/2,493 MWh (DC). The project will support rapidly growing electricity demand from data centers and enhance the resilience and reliability of the regional power grid. Under the agreement, e-STORAGE will supply approximately 500 SolBank 3.0 ESS units for the project. Shipments are expected to begin in March 2027 and be completed by July of the same year.
