LME Zinc to Move in Narrow Range (2017-7-7)

SHANGHAI, Jul. 7 (SMM) – ADP employment data were downbeat, and may support base metals. LME zinc failed to break through USD 2,800/mt and is expected to move between USD 2,760-2,800/mt today. SHFE 1708 zinc is expected to fluctuate between RMB 22,650-22,960/mt, with spot prices RMB 20/mt below or RMB 130/mt above SHFE 1707 zinc.

Coherent reported fiscal Q4 2026 Datacenter & Communications revenue of $1.615 billion, up 18.6% QoQ and 58.6% YoY, accounting for approximately 79% of total revenue. The company cited accelerating customer demand as AI datacenter architectures transition from copper to optical connectivity and said it is prioritizing manufacturing capacity expansion. SMM views the expansion of AI optical connectivity as supportive of medium-term InP and high-purity indium demand. August Zinc Oxide Import & Export Analysis: Exports Shine, Vietnam Remains the Core Export Destination

According to the latest customs data, China imported 399.73 tonnes of zinc oxide in August, up 70.73% month-on-month (MoM) and 2.53% year-on-year (YoY). Cumulative imports from January to August reached 3,895.56 tonnes, up 4.31% YoY. China exported 1,982.38 tonnes of zinc oxide in August, up 30.06% MoM and 60.20% YoY. Cumulative exports from January to August totaled 14,250.04 tonnes, up 52.09% YoY.
