China Releases REO and Tungsten Ore Mining Limits for 2017

China’s Ministry of Land and Resources released REO mining limits for 2017 on July 3.

SHANGHAI, Jul. 4 (SMM) - China’s Ministry of Land and Resources released REO mining limits for 2017 on July 3.

The country allows domestic mines to exploit 105,000 tonnes of REO in 2017, including 17,900 tonnes of ion-absorbed REO (mainly constituted by middle-heavy rare earths) and 87,100 tonnes of porphyry-type (light) REO.

China also puts restrictions on tungsten ore (65% WO3) mining at 91,300 tonnes, including 73,200 tonnes of exploitation and 18,100 tonnes of comprehensive utilization.
