Cargo transport around Liaodun Station in Lanzhou-Xinjiang rail line has been suspended from July 2 as a result of flooding.

SHANGHAI, Jul. 4 (SMM) – Cargo transport around Liaodun Station in Lanzhou-Xinjiang rail line has been suspended from July 2 as a result of flooding, and when transport will return to normal is subject to notice by railway bureau. 

SMM learned from alumina producers that this move has affected alumina shipments to Xinjiang. However, the suspension may last no more than one week.

As such, alumina prices will get little boost, SMM understands.
