China Imports and Exports of Rare Earth Permanent Magnet Both Up in May 2017

China exported 2,834 tonnes of rare earth permanent magnet in May 2017, up 23.1% YoY, which increased for 2 years in a row.

SHANGHAI, Jun. 27 (SMM) – China exported 2,834 tonnes of rare earth permanent magnet in May 2017, up 23.1% YoY, which increased for 2 years in a row, according to China Customs.

Imports of rare earth permanent magnet expanded 18.1% YoY to 209 tonnes, while the data registered a decline last year.

However, average import and export prices both inched down in the month, on a yearly basis.
