Turkish Crude Steel production shoots up in May

Turkish Crude Steel production has shot up by 9.7 percent to 3.3 metric tons during the month of May this year, according to the latest figures released by the World Steel Association (worldsteel).

AHKARA (Scrap Register): Turkish Crude Steel production has shot up by 9.7 percent to 3.3 metric tons during the month of May this year, according to the latest figures released by the World Steel Association (worldsteel).

In the EU, Germany produced 3.8 Mt of crude steel in May 2017, a decrease of -1.4% compared to May 2016.

Italy has produced 2.1 Mt of crude steel, down by -4.1% on May 2016. France produced 1.4 Mt of crude steel, up by 21.5% compared to May 2016.

Spain has produced 1.2 Mt of crude steel, down by -3.7% on May 2016.

The United States has produced 7.0 Mt of crude steel in May 2017, an increase of 0.2% compared to May 2016.

Brazil’s crude steel production for May 2017 was 2.9 Mt, up by 13.2% on May 2016.

[Molybdenum-Iron Tender Information] SMM, March 24: It is reported that on March 23, a special steel group in east China announced the tender price for a new round of ferromolybdenum procurement, with the tax-inclusive plant-delivered acceptance-settled price at 277,500 yuan/mt, down 2,000 yuan/mt from the tender price on March 18. The public tender purchase volume was 120 mt (bid volume), while the actual total purchase volume remained to be determined.

[SMM Hot-Rolled Coil Daily Transactions] Spot Transactions Weakened Somewhat

[SMM Daily Hot-Rolled Coil Trading] On March 18, the total daily trading volume of hot-rolled coil among SMM sample enterprises in four cities (Shanghai, Lecong, Tianjin, and Ningbo) was 14,430 mt, down 640 mt day on day, or 4.2%, with up 14.43% YoY on a calendar basis and down 26.56% YoY on a lunar calendar basis.
