US Brass mill products trade increases in April

Brass mill products exports and imports by United States during April has increased when compared to the corresponding period in 2016, as per Copper & Brass Fabricators Council.

NEW YORK (Scrap Register): Brass mill products exports and imports by United States during April has increased when compared to the corresponding period in 2016, as per Copper & Brass Fabricators Council. 

During the period of April, the brass mill products imports increased by about 4.5 percent to 41.4 million lb when compared with 39.6 million during the same period in 2016. Exports have seen an increase of about 0.5 percent to 19.9 million lb during April against 19.8 million year on year.

During the initial four months of the year, imports increased by about 5.2 percent and totaled at 155.2 million lb against 147.6 million lb during the same period in 2016.

While the exports during the initial four months was seen to increase by about 7.4 percent to 85.4 million lb against 79.5 million lb during the same period in 2016. US imports of all sheet, strip, plate and foil products during April totaled 14.9 million lb, while exports of those products totaled 7.6 million lb.

The main destination for United States brass mill exports in April was Mexico with 7.8 million lb, the other destinations are Canada at 5.4 million lb, China at 1.2 million lb, South Korea at 918,716 lb and Germany at 630,061 lb.
