SHANGHAI, Jun. 13 (SMM) – China Customs has intensified checks on scrap imports this year, leading to a significant increase in the number of containers being rejected, SMM learned.
In particular, overseas traders are less willing to export recently, and demand from China has weakened as well.
Some Chinese secondary aluminum producers that rely on imported aluminum scrap are seeking domestic raw materials as an alternative, SMM survey found.
