United States major aluminum scrap commodities showed a flat trend on the Scrap Register Prices Index during the week ended April 21, while US shredded scrap prices continued to remain steady.

NEW YORK (Scrap Register): United States major aluminum scrap commodities showed a flat trend on the Scrap Register Prices Index during the week ended April 21, while US shredded scrap prices continued to remain steady.

According to Scrap Register Prices Index, the weekly average prices of major US aluminum scrap commodities like 356 auto wheels, 5052 alum clip, 6061 alum extrusion, 6063 extrusion, al/cu rad with iron, al/cu radiator, alum breakage, alum litho sheets, alum old sheet, alum rad with iron, alum radiator, alum transformer, alum transmission, alum turning and mix alum casting showed a steady trend during the week.

The US shredded scrap index remained flat during the week at $301 a long ton.

Market participants are eagerly watching developments in the global raw material markets for indications of the potential for May settlements.

ISRI's upcoming annual meeting in New Orleans next week should provide some insight into the market for next month.
