SHANGHAI (Scrap Register): Chinese crude steel production for April 2017 was 72.8 million tons, an increase of 4.9 percent compared to April 2016, according to the latest figures released by the World Steel Association (worldsteel).

According to worldsteel, Japan has produced 8.8 Mt of crude steel in April 2017, an increase of 3.0% compared to April 2016. South Korea’s crude steel production for April 2017 was 5.5 Mt, a decrease of -2.9% compared to April 2016.

The global crude steel production was 142.1 million tons in April 2017, a 5.0% increase compared to April 2016.
